Big UGA target reflects on last-minute trip to Auburn
Jaleel Laguins is one of UGA’s main targets at inside linebacker, and he is set to announce his commitment to his school of choice on Wednesday.
Before that happens, Laguins took a last-minute visit to one of his finalists on Saturday: Auburn.
Laguins, a 4-star linebacker from Oconee County High School, told the AJC that this weekend’s visit couldn’t have been better.
“It went great, just like how all of the Auburn visits go,” Laguins said. “I don’t know what it is, but every time I go there it feels like home.”
The 6-foot-2, 213-pounder visited Auburn and watched a scrimmage. Laguins said he got a chance to talk with some of the coaches and players, but none of them pressured him into committing, even though his announcement is in three days.
UGA is perceived as the favorite to land Laguins, but with this last-minute visit to Auburn, could we say that it’s a two-team race?
“I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s going to come down to Auburn or Georgia,” he said. “There may be another school in there that may be in the mix.”
Laguins will announce his commitment at his high school at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
