BRUNSWICK, GA. — Brunswick High School 4-star offensive tackle D’antne Demery has made his college decision.

The 6-foot-6 prospect, a priority target for the Bulldogs, chose between UGA and Alabama on Wednesday at the Golden Isles Exposure satellite camp at his high school. Demery told DawgNation on Tuesday that the decision was a lot closer than most would think and also revealed his decision in the touching commitment video above.

Did Alabama add its sixth commitment for the Class of 2017 in nine days? Was UGA able to hold off former defensive coordinator Jeremy Prutt’s push to bring the nation’s No. 16 offensive tackle to Tuscaloosa?

Check out the exclusive video that Demery shot with DawgNation that explained all the thinking behind the decision. The deciding factor definitely wasn’t what most fans might think.

He said he made the decision less than a week ago and the coaches at his future school only found out a few days ago.

“This decision is final,” Demery said. “That’s it for me.”

Expect Demery to still take his official visits. He already knows that UGA and Alabama, along with SEC rival Florida, will each get visits.

He’s rated as the nation’s No. 101 overall prospect for the Class of 2017.
