The recruiting analysts feel that UGA quarterback commit Jake Fromm is one of the nation’s best.

The Elite 11 has concurred. Fromm (Houston County/ Warner Robins, Ga.) was named to the 18th Elite 11 squad on Monday. The Elite 11 is an annual competition of the nation’s finest QBs every summer. Fromm was one of 12 quarterbacks (don’t ask about the math) named to the Elite 11 on Monday.

Fromm flipped to Alabama to UGA. The big reason? Kirby Smart. (Jeff Sentell / AJC)/Dawgnation)

Fromm was culled from a field of 24 quarterbacks who had been chosen from regional combines across the nation this spring. That meant more than 700 quarterbacks were eventually considered for the event.

Bleacher Report analyst Michael Felder said on the live Elite 11 selection show that Fromm was simply a “football-playing dude.” That all

The noon announcement continued a whirlwind of a day for Fromm. He flew back to Georgia from California late Sunday night on a red-eye flight and got back home around 8 a.m. on Monday.

Did he sleep?

Nope. Fromm was already back at it. He took his brothers to basketball practice and then went about the business of getting better every day.

He said the Elite 11 honor checked off a major goal for his high school career.

Fromm is rated as the nation’s No. 3 pro-style passer in the Class of 2017 and as the No. 41 player overall. He continues the tradition of UGA quarterbacks at the Elite 11 like Matt Stafford, Aaron Murray and Jacob Eason.

Elite 11 analyst Trent Dilfer weighed in recently on Fromm’s potential in comparing him to NFL passers Chase Daniel and Drew Brees.

Fromm is the only Georgia quarterback commit in the 2017 class and flipped from Alabama back in March. The 6-foot-3, 224-pounder is a talented passer and a strong athlete who led his baseball team to a state championship in May.
