Rumors have swirled of late the 4-star offensive lineman E.J. Price might be a silent commitment to UGA. That’s what made what his Dad was wearing on Friday afternoon very interesting.

His father, Edward Price, Sr., and his mother, Schenik Allen, were at Archer High School for their son’s Under Armour All-American Game jersey presentation ceremony. Price and his teammate, 5-star receiver Kyle Davis, are the first Under Armour All-Americans in Archer football history.

Price said he was shocked when he saw his Dad came to the event decked out in a UGA polo shirt and ballcap.

“I was not expecting him to wear that,” Price said. “I grew up in Michigan. I was a big Michigan fan growing up. My dad is a Michigan fan, but he also was a Georgia Bulldog fan growing up. He watched Herschel Walker play. He’s a big fan of Herschel. He’s a Bulldog fan outside of my recruitment anyway.”

Edward Price, Sr. said that was his attire for his son’s game days. He said if he had more Archer stuff, he would wear that gear on Fridays.

The Under Armour All-American said on Friday that UGA and Auburn were his leaders, but also named off five other schools that he would be considering.

Price now has a revised commitment date of Jan. 2. at the Under Armour All-American game. He was previously going to announce at the U.S. Army All-American game but changed his mind recently to play in the Under Armour event.

Davis also received his jersey, but he was not available for any interviews following the ceremony.

What else is going on with Price’s recruitment? He answered the following questions in the above video interview with DawgNation.com.

  • What sort of honor was the Under Armour selection?
  • Did the tough loss UGA suffered against Alabama affect his decision?
  • What does he think about Auburn’s rough start so far?
  • How is he planning out his official visits this fall?
  • Which West Coast school will get an official visit?
