The reviews for the Georgia football program’s showing from Saturday night are coming in.

They all appear to be glowing. Pretty much in red.

That is how that 23-17 national showcase win against Notre Dame looked like to the elite prospects who were on hand for the 2019 debut of a “relit” Sanford Stadium that now has another gear for excitement with those late kickoffs.

Those Georgia commits and targets had a lot to say. We will get to the words of those guys. In just a minute.

But it was the reports that two of the Georgia commitments told their fathers that really stood out. This wasn’t talking to a reporter. Or DawgNation.

That was family. The first of those was the father of 4-star CB commitment Jalen Kimber.

“When he got off that plane man, I saw every payment that I made in braces on his face,” Art Kimber said. “His smile covered his whole face. He couldn’t wipe that thing off.”

That’s what Kimber said about the nation’s No. 6 cornerback for 2020 when he landed back in Texas. He told his father that a few of the biggest things is he can’t wait to run out in that tunnel, through that smoke and get bathed in those red lights within the warmth of an overjoyed fan base.

Those two spent 30 minutes on the couch. For a different type of film review. Those two were replaying all the videos Kimber had stored up in his phone.

“He was grinning from ear to ear man I tell you what,” Art Kimber said. “I am glad that he got to see that. That was his first Georgia game. He said he has never seen anything like it. He said no place does it like that the way Georgia does.”

That’s one side of the ball. The father of promising 3-star receiver Justin Robinson shared another nugget.

“Justin said ‘I was at a party and a football game just so happened to break out,'” Qua Robinson told DawgNation.

5-star ATH Darnell Washington was one of our official visitors in Sanford Stadium on Saturday night. Washington was often seen cutting up with 4-star Theo Johnson. The top-rated player from Canada this cycle is the other priority TE target for the 2020 class. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

REVIEWING THE NOTRE DAME WIN

It fuels the belief that recruits want to go somewhere they can win, develop and reel in their NFL dreams, too. But it also sure sounds like they can do that and have a lot of fun on a Saturday night in Athens at the same time.

The recruits will have the rest of this page. They had some pretty revealing things to say, too. (All rankings cited are from the 247Sports Composite ratings.)

  • Kendall Milton/5-star RB/Hgt: 6-2/Wgt: 225 (Georgia commit)

Buchanan HS/Clovis, Calif. – Nation’s No. 4 RB and No. 23 overall

“It was crazy. Just being in that stadium. The whole sold-out stadium. You know they had that whole red light thing when they blacked it out. So the atmosphere and how loud the fans were stood out. I think the fans were a huge contributor to the win.”

“You know Notre Dame took two timeouts early in the game on third and short situations because it was just so loud. So I would say the atmosphere there was just completely unbelievable.”

Gonzaga/Washington, D.C. — Nation’s No. 1 dual-threat QB and No. 16 overall prospect

The big thing for Williams was he wanted to see the atmosphere in Athens. He’s estimated that he’s made about six or seven trips to Athens by now.

“It was pretty awesome and electric,” Williams said.

Did anything impress him?

“How efficient they were with going deep tonight,” he said. “Without actually knowing the stats they seemed pretty efficient going deep.”

  • Josh Braun/4-star OT/Hgt: 6-6/Wgt: 335 (Class of 2020 commit)

Suwannee HS/Live Oak, Fla. – No. 21 OT and No. 279 overall

“It was surreal. Watching the players run out of the tunnel and onto the field while the stadium is literally shaking is something I’ll never forget. The addition of the light show made the atmosphere of the stadium chaotic. I definitely wouldn’t want to be the visiting team. This football team has a great support system in their fans, best in the country, and they fight their hardest to not disappoint them.”

Braun added a follow-up to that thought on Sunday afternoon. It was about what it will be like to play in Sanford Stadium soon. He will enroll in January.

“Playing in a big game like last night’s in the best stadium in the nation will be a dream come true. After last night, I am so excited to be a ‘Dawg.”

  • Zykeivous Walker/4-star DE/Hgt:6-4/Wgt: 270 (2020 target)

Schley County/Ellaville, Ga. – No. 9 strong-side DE and No. 155 overall

“The atmosphere at tonight’s game was amazing. It is the best college football game I have ever been to. I had so much fun. I’ve never seen an atmosphere hype like that and the light show was great. It gave me chills all night. The one thing that excites me about the Bulldogs is how hype they are and they play with a lot of energy.”

His favorite part of the night was the light show from the new LED lights at Sanford Stadium.

“It would have been great to play in that.”

  • Tate Ratledge/4-star OT/Hgt: 6-6/Wgt: 320 (Georgia commit)

Darlington School/Rome, Ga. — Nation’s No. 3 OT and No. 37 overall

Ratledge is now one of the cornerstone commits of the Georgia class. Clearly. He spent a lot of time hanging out with Braun, Milton and preferred walk-on DT Cade Brock on Saturday.

“It was absolutely amazing. By far the best atmosphere I’ve ever been in.”

  • Jalen Kimber/4-star CB/Hgt: 6-1/Wgt: 175 (Georgia commit)

Mansfield Timberview/Arlington, Tex. — Nation’s No. 6 CB and No. 85 overall

Kimber was the future Bulldog who has happy to flash a big smile for his father on Sunday morning after he landed in Texas. He was really impressed by how well Georgia played without two of its top two cornerback prospects on Saturday night. It showed him that the Bulldogs get their depth pieces ready to shine on the big stages, too.

“I thought it was my favorite game I’ve ever been too,” Kimber told DawgNation. “It really made feel good about committing to Georgia. The atmosphere has to be one of the best I’ve ever been around. That’s from the time I step foot on campus until the time I left.”

  • Barrett Carter/4-star junior OLB/Hgt: 6-1/Wgt: 212

North Gwinnett HS/Suwanee, Ga. — Nation’s No. 8 OLB and No. 115 overall prospect

Carter is one of the top options at LB for the 2021 cycle in the state of Georgia. He is a very smart, physical and instinctive player for his Bulldogs on the varsity level.

“Tonight was once in a lifetime,” Carter said. “The atmosphere was insane and I felt like I was at home. will 100 percent be back!”

William Amos Hough/Cornelius, NC— Nation’s No. 5 RB and No. 82 overall prospect

Pryor has been to UGA several times. He’s one of the top options at RB for the 2020 class.

“It was an exciting environment,” he said. “I had never been to a UGA game before so I loved it. Pre-game was very fun.”

  • Jayden Thomas/4-star junior WR/Hgt: 6-2/Wgt: 200

Pace Academy/Atlanta, Ga. — Nation’s No. 29 WR and No. 145 overall prospect for 2021

  • Justin Robinson/4-star WR/Hgt: 6-4/Wgt: 205 (2020 UGA commit)

Eagles Landing Christian Academy/McDonough, Ga. – No. 65 WR and No. 382 overall

Robinson committed to Georgia back in March.

His big takeaways from the night were …..

“Wild. The hardest hitting party I’ve ever been to. Lol.”

“The atmosphere was like nothing I’ve ever seen!”

His favorite part? How would he describe it? Robinson deems that to be a visual thing. He had a hard time pegging it is either a party or a football game.

“It was both lol. The whole thing was amazing. Really hard to describe.”

  • Amarius Mims/5-star junior OT/Hgt: 6-7/Wgt: 315

Bleckley County HS/Cochran, Ga. — Nation’s No. 2 OT and No. 15 overall prospect

“It was great as always.”

What would it have been like to play a game in front of it all that?

“Some pressure, but a lot of fun.”

  • Terrence Ferguson/4-star junior OT/Hgt: 6-4.5/Wgt: 300

Peach County/Fort Valley, Ga.— Nation’s No. 11 OT and No. 58 overall prospect

“The atmosphere was crazy. Honestly, I’ve never been to a game like that. We got to town at 11 a.m., and the streets were already flooded. I wasn’t surprised by the win, but I was very exited. You had no choice but to be excited in that atmosphere.”

“My favorite part was just how alive everyone in the Stadium was. the whole place was rocking.”

“I’m sure it was an amazing experience, playing in a game to that magnitude, but on the field, you just tune everything out and do your job.”

  • Tim Keenan/4-star junior DT/Hgt: 6-3.5/Wgt:330

Ramsay HS/Birmingham, Ala. — Nation’s No. 17 DT and No. 215 overall prospect

“One of the best games in my life. I loved it.”

What were his favorite parts?

“Pre-game and the fourth quarter.”

  • Hudson Wolfe/4-star junior TE /Hgt: 6-6/Wgt:242

Hardin County HS/Savannah, Tenn. — Nation’s No. 6 TE and No. 216 overall prospect

“The atmosphere was insane!! Everything about the game was top notch! I loved the new LED lights! Also, the game itself was exactly what you expected when you get two top 10 teams and have them battle it out! It was a ‘DAWG fight man!”

  • Chief Borders/Class of 2021 ATH/Hgt: 6-5/Wgt:228

McEachern HS/Powder Springs, Ga. — Lists 40-plus offers, including UGA.

“When the jets SOARED OVER THE Stadium, then they took off like a MILLION miles an hour. The energy in the ENTIRE Stadium was like so CRAZZZZY. The BEGINNING of the fourth quarter is like no other, the light show. When it counted on fourth down. UGA made adjustments and got the W. Notre DAME fought the whole game. AWESOME GAME for the RECORD BOOKS.”

  • Holden Geriner/Class of 2022 QB/Hgt: 6-3/Wgt:205

Belton-Honea Path/Honea Path, SC – No. 20 S prospect and No. 416 overall

“Best experience. Everything speaks for itself. The fans. The players. The coaches. The atmosphere was the best yet. I can’t wait to get between the hedges!”

What was his favorite moment?

“I think my favorite part is when the players run out and you can feel how much the fans and everyone loves you and is ready to see you put on a show.”
