Good news for UGA with one of Georgia’s top prospects
Robert Beal once received more than 100 pieces of mail from UGA in a single day.
Evidently, the tactic has caught the attention of the 4-star defensive end.
On Sunday, Beal released an early top 10, a list that included the Bulldogs and several other SEC programs, most notably LSU and Ole Miss.
One of the top-rated recruits in 2017, Beal has already reported 23 offers and has drawn comparisons to UGA standout Lorenzo Carter, who, like Beal, starred for Norcross High School under coach Keith Maloof.
In an interview with the AJC’s DawgNation.com, Maloof didn’t mince his words when comparing the two.
“I’ve said it a few times,” Maloof told the AJC’s DawgNation.com. “Robert can be every bit as good and probably even a lot better than Lorenzo Carter.”
While Beal may be on UGA’s radar, it appears Notre Dame is the frontrunner, according to 247Sports.com’s Crystal Ball predictions. The Irish topped the Bulldogs’ mailing efforts when they once sent him 129 letters in one day.
Beal is rated as the No. 9 player in the state and the No. 73 player overall in the country.
