There’s Jimi Hendrix. Then maybe Bill Gates and Starbucks. Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn might be next. After that, then maybe 5-star UGA quarterback commitment Jacob Eason could one day become one of the best things the Pacific Northwest has ever sent to Georgia.

It appears the kid with the Golden Arm from the State of Washington is on his way. No matter what.

DawgNation asked Eason this question: Can you think of any scenario or circumstance in which you would not go to UGA?

“Um, I can’t,” Eason said. “I can’t.”

That sort of loyalty is why a smattering of UGA fans have already taken cross-country trips to the 425 area code. The trip to check out the nation’s No. 2 quarterback intrigued them.

The nearly 6-foot-6 Eason has signed autographs and UGA helmets already. He’s launched 60-plus-yard passes and even boomed 50-yard punts. The centerpiece of UGA’s Class of 2016 recruiting class is already very well-known among the DawgNation faithful.

The timing leads to the excitement. The UGA offense has been inconsistent. Its quarterbacks are a work in progress. Meanwhile, Eason continues to crank out highlight upon highlight. Sure, there’s no comparison between Washington prep football and the SEC. That’s true. There are also very few quarterbacks we see on Saturdays with that kind of quick release and live arm.

He’s not even a freshman. Yet. Eason has already signed his financial aid papers though and is set to enroll in January.
