Kyle Davis, the 5-star receiver, addressed his father’s comments about UGA’s offense in an interview with the AJC.
If you remember, Kyle’s dad told al.com a few weeks ago that he thinks UGA wouldn’t develop him as well as schools like Auburn, South Carolina and Tennessee. The father of the Archer football star believes those schools run offenses better suited for his son’s game. The candid comments have been the buzz of UGA message boards ever since.
Well, Kyle told the AJC on Thursday that his dad’s remarks have nothing to do with where he will play college football.
“He doesn’t affect my decision with any school,” Davis said. “I can only go off of what (UGA) had in the past. I mean, they had A.J. Green and Hines Ward.”
The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder also commented on his father’s suggestion that a spread offense would compliment his game more so than a pro-style, which UGA runs. Kyle has no preference on which offense he’d rather play in.
“I just want the ball,” he said with a laugh.
Davis is rated as the state’s No. 6 overall prospect. He de-committed from South Carolina last month. The Gamecocks, along with Tennessee and UGA, are believed to be his frontrunners.
