Sanford Stadium wasn’t filled to capacity on Saturday, most likely due to the bad weather in the Athens area, but some big-time recruits were in attendance.

Derrick Brown, Georgia’s No. 1 overall prospect for this year, made an unofficial visit to UGA to support the Bulldogs. The 5-star defensive tackle from Lanier High School will take official visits to UGA, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi State. Saturday could be his last unofficial visit to UGA until he returns for his official in January.

Despite UGA’s woes this season, the Bulldogs are still considered the school to beat for Brown, although Auburn and Tennessee are in the mix, too.

Some of the other top recruits at the game were E.J. Price and Demetri Moore. Price, a 4-star offensive lineman from Archer High School who was previously committed to UGA, told recently told DawgNation that UGA remains his leader. Moore was on an official visit. The Mississippi Delta Community College offensive lineman has UGA, Auburn and Cincinnati at the top of his list. The Bulldogs already have three offensive line commits and are expected to sign two more.

UGA also received some good news on the recruiting trail Saturday. Junior college wide receiver Javon Wims committed to the Bulldogs. Wims is the fifth commitment at receiver. UGA is still after a few more targets at the spot, including 5-star Kyle Davis, 4-star Tre Nixon and 4-star Grant Holloway.
