Priority Georgia 5-star target Owen Pappoe sets commitment date
Owen Pappoe knows when he will announce his college decision. And now, so do we.
The 5-star recruit and nation’s No. 1 outside linebacker prospect for the 2019 cycle, according to the 247Sports composite, tweeted Monday night when he plans to announce his choice.
Cinco de Mayo might bring some news for DawgNation.
I will be announcing my commitment on May 5th.

Pappoe recently told SEC Country’s Ben Wolk that he had a top 2 of Georgia and Auburn. The Bulldogs were still his leader, even after a recent visit to Auburn.
The Grayson High standout also ranks as the No. 7 overall prospect for the Class of 2019. While rated as an outside linebacker, the Georgia staff has told he would get a good look inside, as well.
If he chooses UGA, he would be counted on to play a Roquan Smith-type role in the middle of the Bulldogs defense. That’s what the staff has been telling him for quite some time.
The 6-foot, 215-pound prospect has been a major cog in the Grayson defense for the last three seasons. He’s set to become the first-ever three-time participant in Nike’s The Opening Final, a prospect showcase later this summer.
The Tigers have picked up significant steam the last few months to nudge past other schools such as Clemson and Nebraska to really catch his attention.
Auburn wasn’t even in his top 3 on Oct. 31.
