The status of longtime Georgia signee Tramel Walthour has been all over the place the last couple of months. Back in April, it was reported that the 3-star defensive tackle would be taking a grayshirt instead of joining the rest of the 2018 class.

Now it looks like that plan has changed yet again. Walthour has signed with Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, according to Kipp Adams from Dawgs247.

Walthour is the No. 631 overall prospect in the country (No. 48 DT), according to the 247Sports composite rankings. At 6-foot-4, 277 pounds, he looks like he could be an excellent fit in Kirby Smart’s defense in the future.

His future on the Bulldogs defensive front could end up being delayed if he decides to take the normal junior college route. It’s all going to depend on what he can get done in summer school, which — according to the report from Adams — starts in July.

Georgia finished with the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for 2018, and Walthour wasn’t expected to enroll anytime soon. It’s still a situation to monitor moving forward, however.
