WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Trey Hill has climbed his hill.

He was able to whittle down some 40-something scholarship offers into a top 4 last week.

The nation’s No. 2 offensive guard for 2018 (247Sports Composite) has made his college decision.  Auburn and Georgia would be the top picks by most of the recruiting industry as the main contenders for Hill.

His two most recent official visits included trips to Auburn for “The Iron Bowl” and to Georgia this past weekend. Are there any differences between the two programs?

“Both of them are really the same to me,” Hill told SEC Country last week. “Both of them are SEC schools. You get the same academics at both of them. There’s not really a lot of difference between the two schools.”

Auburn and Georgia have also popped by the family home over the last week for their in-home visits. Hill, a 4-star recruit, plans to sign with the school of his choice on Dec. 20 and enroll in January with that program.

Houston County’s U.S. Army All-American chose to share his decision in the video below produced by SEC Country Studios. He shared it live with his teammates and Houston County family first at the conclusion of the team’s football banquet.

“I just felt like Georgia was home for me,” Hill told reporters after announcing his commitment. “It’s always good to stay home.”

The exclusive video documents the rigorous training regimen adopted by Hill since the end of his senior season with the Bears. Hill told SEC Country that he’s taken just one day off since then.

He has even adopted some interesting methods like punches to the gut and yoga principles to that grind.

“I’m just ready,” Hill told SEC Country.

Hill was selected for Nike’s elite “The Opening” prospect showcase this summer. That event hand-picks 166 of the nation’s top prospects every year.

The 6-foot-3.5, 340-pound prospect also rates as the nation’s No. 38 overall prospect for this cycle.
