Sporting UGA gloves at his scrimmage against Northview High School on Thursday night, Breon Dixon is making it clear that he wants an offer from the in-state school.

Dixon, a 4-star linebacker from Peachtree Ridge High School, attended Dawg Night last month and got a chance to speak with defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. His message was clear: Be patient.

“They are just keeping their eyes on me to see how I’m going to do this season,” Dixon told the AJC. “They are just waiting to see how my body is going to fill out to be — either strong safety or linebacker.”

The 6-foot, 216-pounder is a bit undersized right now to play linebacker, which is one of the reasons why UGA hasn’t offered yet.

But that’s fine because he’s still a 2017 prospect with lots of time to grow and put on some more weight.

As of now, Dixon holds 19 offers from schools like Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee.

He doesn’t have a set date on when he’ll announce a top 10 or top five, but he knows one school that will definitely make the cut.
