UGA commit Chad Clay sat out this past weekends scrimmage for Peachtree Ridge High School with a MCL sprain.
Clay, a 3-star cornerback from Peachtree Ridge High School, was spotted using crutches to walk, but his injury isn’t a concern for his head coach.
‘He just twisted his knee in practice and he’s OK,” Peachtree Ridge High School coach Mark Fleetwood told the AJC. “We just didn’t want him to get hurt anymore. We don’t think it’s anything serious. He will ice it and we will see where he is on Monday.”
The 6-foot, 180-pounder told the AJC he’ll practice on Wednesday.
After the team’s scrimmage, he also said that he is “90-percent committed” to UGA.
Oklahoma remains a possibility for him if anything happens with UGA, he says. He thinks to test how talented you are, you play in the Big 12.
“(Oklahoma) plays in the Big 12,” Clay said. “If you’re going to test how good of a defensive back you are, you’re going to go to the Big-12 because they throw it a lot out there.”
Clay is rated as the state’s No. 32 prospect.
