Mel Tucker has moved in quickly for junior college cornerback Lonnie Johnson.
Georgia’s defensive coordinator saw Johnson last week. The junior college defensive back has already earned an offer and also scheduled an official visit for this weekend.

That’s how fast the news cycle has been with Johnson.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is at Garden City Community College in Kansas. He expected to be in a loaded Ohio State class a few years back, but academic issues derailed that.
Johnson — who rates as the nation’s No. 2 junior college safety — picked up a Georgia offer last night.
The timing of the offer and visit seems important here. He told DawgNation on Tuesday afternoon that he will make his decision on Tuesday.
Johnson is set to enroll in January.
Georgia wants him at cornerback and safety. The Indiana native said if given a choice, he’d rather line up at cornerback.
This will be his last official visit. He’s already taken officials to Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Johnson said that Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker likes his physical style of play. When he enrolls at the school of his choice in January, he will have two years to play two seasons.
