UGA continues to try to mine for talent off the roster of Maryland powerhouse DeMatha Catholic. Senior offensive lineman Terrance Davis is one of the program’s priority targets for the 2016 class.
Junior 5-star running back Anthony McFarland, Jr. was a standout at Dawg Night in July and he also has UGA high on his list. The new name that popped up Friday from that school is junior DE Chase Young.
Young tweeted out on Friday morning that he received a UGA offer. It was his 19th so far. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder is already rated as the No. 10 defensive end for 2017 by the 247sports composite. He’s also regarded as the No. 196 player overall.
According to reports, Young has picked up offers from UGA, Alabama, Boston College, Florida State, Kentucky, Nebraska and Ohio State so far this month.
The 247sports Crystal Ball currently pegs him at 100 percent to attend Maryland. His two early highlight films shown below show him against two of the nation’s top programs in Florida powers American Heritage and Miami Central.
