UGA commit Randrecous Davis always wanted to be a Bulldog. After all, he tattooed the “G” on his left bicep and his role model, Hines Ward, starred for the school in the 90s.
Davis, a 3-star wide receiver from Mays High School, committed to UGA back in July. Shortly after his commitment, he told the AJC that UGA fans have another Ward on their team.
Ward heard about Davis’ remarks, and they ended up talking after having mutual friends.
“It’s great having him as a role model because he’s really cool,” Davis told the AJC. “It’s like stereotyping when you think (about) people (that) make it to the NFL because they probably won’t text you back, but anytime I text him or call him, he answers the phone and answers any questions I got. He mentors me and coaches me up on things — little things — that I should do like how to stay hydrated and eat healthy and stuff like that.”
In the video above, Davis talks about the encounter he had with Ward during his freshman year and what the UGA star had to say about him should excite Bulldogs fans.
