DawgNation knows the name Jacob Eason by now. Yet it is about time to give one of his receivers some credit. Eason is guiding his team through the Washington high school state playoffs with loads of help from his friends.
Senior receiver Riley Krenz has had a big supporting role in DawgNation’s weekly Eason highlights this season. Krenz caught two more Eason touchdowns this week as No. 2 Lake Stevens beat fifth-ranked Graham-Kapowsin, 49-14.
The 5-star UGA commit completed 16 of his 26 passes for 252 yards and four more touchdowns. The prettiest of those balls may have been approximately a 67-yarder to Krenz.
Eason will enroll at UGA in January, but the 5-foot-11, 196-pound Krenz is still looking for his first major college scholarship offer. That sure-handed No. 15 in those highlights had 50 catches for 863 yards and 12 touchdown receptions through his first 11 games.
Besides that long catch, Krenz is also featured in another one of the best scenes in the video highlights above. He calls Eason by his “Skinny” nickname in a pre-game huddle.
“Skinny are you ready to have some fun baby?” Krenz shouted. “Let’s do it. Let’s throw the rock. Let’s be playmakers. Playmakers on three. One. Two. Three.”
According to his MaxPreps player page, Krenz has caught 14 of Eason’s 41 touchdown passes in 2015. The senior has caught 23 touchdowns for his Vikings over the last two seasons.
Lake Stevens (12-0) will play in the Washington state high school football semifinals on Saturday. The senior year highlights for Krenz are shared below.
