That potential staff has a very Georgia 2014 feel to it. Sherrer, Friend and Rocker coached the outside linebackers, offensive line and defensive line respectively. At the end of that season, Friend left Georgia to join Mike Bobo at Colorado State. Rocker was dismissed from Georgia in January.
Sherrer is not the first Georgia assistant to be linked to a job this season. Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker reportedly interviewed for the Tennessee job, and wide receivers coach James Coley is a reported candidate to be Texas A&M’s offensive coordinator.
Per another Chris Low report, Pruitt is expected to stay at Alabama through the College Football Playoff. Alabama takes on Clemson on Jan. 1. in one national semifinal. The Bulldogs will meet Oklahoma in the other.
