Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice may not be returning to an NFL field any time soon. But he will be making an appearance at UGA.
Per Dean Legge of Dawg Post, the University of Georgia’s Scout.com affiliate, Rice will be speaking to the Georgia football team on Monday.
Rice was last with the Ravens in 2014. Rice was initially suspended two games for the 2014 season after video emerged of him dragging his unconscious fiancee through a hotel lobby. In Sept. of 2014, another video of Rice striking his fiancee, now wife, in a hotel elevator emerged. Rice was given an indefinite suspension that has since been lifted following an appeal. The Ravens terminated the his contract following the domestic violence incident. He has not been able to sign with a team since the second video emerged.
Per USA Today, Rice has said that if he were to sign with a team, he would donate all of his salary to charity. Rice rushed for 6,180 yards in 7 years with the Ravens. Rice was also a member of the 2012-13 Super Bowl team.
The Bulldogs are set to begin their fall camp on Aug. 1. In July of 2014, former Bulldog Jonathan Taylor was arrested for domestic battery and assault charges and quickly kicked off the team.
