Former UGA star Roquan Smith will miss the rest of the NFL season with an injury.
The Chicago Bears announced that Smith was placed on the IR (injured reserve) with a torn pectoral muscle.
Smith, in his second year out of UGA, was a leader on the dominant Bears defense. For the season, Smith registered 101 tackles and 2 sacks.
At UGA, Smith was arguably the best linebacker in school history, becoming the first Bulldogs player to win the Butkus Award in 2017.
On Monday, Smith posted a picture from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta with the caption “Always good to be back home.”
