After struggling to throw the ball in the rain against Kentucky last month, Jake Fromm tried something different for Saturday’s Texas A&M game.

The UGA quarterback wore a glove on his throwing hand in an attempt to help him grip the ball better in the pouring rain against Texas A&M.

It didn’t go well for Fromm, as he missed on two potential touchdown passes early against the Aggies.

By the end of the first quarter, Fromm had ripped the glove off, much to joy of some on social media (see below)

On third-and-6 at the Texas A&M 24-yard line, Fromm badly overthrew a wide-open Brian Herrien. It looked like Herrien had a step on the linebacker to get in the end zone, but in the worst case, it would’ve been first and goal at the 6.

On UGA’s next series, Fromm barely missed a wide-open George Pickens on a flea-flicker for what could’ve been a 52-yard touchdown.

Last month in heavy rains against Kentucky, Fromm passed for a career-low 35 yards. Fortunately, UGA’s held on to beat the Wildcats, thanks to the team’s defense.

Bulldog fans are hoping, despite the early passing woes, that they can get the same result on Saturday.

  • Update: Fromm put the glove back on in the second quarter, and threw a 16-yard scoring pass to Pickens.
