It wasn’t a very good first half for the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game against LSU. Actually, it’s hard imagining it going much worse.
From the very first drive, things didn’t go well for Georgia football. The Bulldogs had a few chances for a big play down the field on the first series of the game, but each time, the Georgia receivers either couldn’t make the catch or quarterback Jake Fromm couldn’t quite hit an open receiver.
On LSU’s first touchdown, it looked like Tigers wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase didn’t completely control the ball all the way to the ground, but no replay of the score could confirm he didn’t catch the ball. Therefore, the call of a touchdown on the field stood.
Heisman trophy frontrunner and LSU quarterback Joe Burrow went 17 of 25 for 204 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Burrow has a game-high 39 rushing yards as well.
Georgia also lost wide receiver Dominick Blaylock and Fromm to injuries. Oh, and Bulldogs kicker Rodrigo Blankenship, who is a finalist for the Lou Groza Award as best kicker in the country, missed a 52-yard field goal.
Fortunately, Fromm returned but on his first series back from injury, he threw his first interception since the loss against South Carolina in October.
The Bulldogs find themselves in a 17-3 hole at halftime, and the Tigers will start the third quarter with the ball.
Here’s how social media reacted to the awful first half from Georgia against LSU in the SEC Championship Game:
Burrow has rushed for 38 yards.
Georgia has rushed for 19 yards.

Can some sophisticated #Georgia fan explain to me why you are ranked 4th? LSU definitely deserves respect, but you lost to South Carolina and your D looks extremely overrated! #SECChampionship #GoBucks

First quarter recap:
Georgia has drops, missed passes, poor pressure on Burrow, an overturned fumble, an inured receiver and a missed field goal.
Normally I'd say it's too early to panic but…

So first drive Georgia’s Wr’s didn’t make plays for their QB and the second drive Georgia’s QB missed a wide open WR with no pressure. Georgia’s O in a nut shell the last 6 weeks.

Michigan's offense is more modern than Georgia's. They run this old Remember The Titans offense with Coach Boone calling plays from the booth. 😂
