Saquon Barkley is one of the best running backs in the country and the Heisman Trophy favorite. Sony Michel, at least statistically, might be even better.
With a hat tip to David Hale of ESPN, Michel has rushed for 542 yards on 58 carries and scored 7 touchdowns. Barkley has rushed for 582 yards but on 114 carries. And he has 7 touchdowns.
It’s worth adding the Barkley has also added three kickoff returns for touchdowns and leads Penn State in receptions.
Michel had a huge game against Florida on Saturday, racking up 137 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on just 6 carries. He’s also splitting time with Nick Chubb, who leads the SEC in rushing this season.
Georgia is now ranked No. 2 in both the Coaches and AP polls this week. The Bulldogs take on South Carolina on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. That game can be seen on CBS.
