It’s no secret that ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has a big mouth.
Monday he unleashed it on Georgia after its loss to Auburn.
“Georgia should be ashamed of its damned self,” he said. “The No. 1 team in the nation, losing ain’t no big deal…to get embarrassed like that, you should be ashamed of yourself.”
The Bulldogs got down 16-7 at halftime and it didn’t any better. Jake Fromm completed just 13 of 28 passes for 184 yards with 1 touchdown. Nick Chubb managed just 27 yards on 11 carries while Kerryon Johnson helped the Tigers with 167 yards on 32 carries. Jarrett Stidham passed for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Smith didn’t stop there.
“I mean this is arguably the best tandem running back in the nation and you got a combined 48 yards rushing!? that’s just embarassing. Kerryon Johnson put on a show, he was balling.”
While Smith’s criticism likely is slightly over the top given Auburn was one of the best teams in the country headed into the game, some Bulldogs fans probably don’t think his words are that far from the truth.
