ATHENS — Something happened on Saturday that hardly anybody around the Georgia football program bothered to bring up: The Bulldogs became bowl eligible.

That’s not much of accomplishment at Georgia, which has gone to a bowl every year since 1997. The Bulldogs’ 27-3 win over Kentucky on Saturday made them 6-3, but it’s still considered by most to already be a very disappointing season.

Greyson Lambert, however, can offer a different perspective. He spent the past three years at Virginia, when the Cavaliers went 5-7, 2-10 and 4-8.

“This is my first season going to a bowl game. I never went to one at Virginia,” Lambert said, chuckling. “You can breathe a little bit. But only for 24 hours, because tomorrow we’re back at the Butts and preparing for our next opponent.”
