ATHENS — There was a surprise addition to Georgia’s list of players out for Saturday’s game.

Davin Bellamy, who has been a first-teamer at outside linebacker the past couple weeks, missed the game with a concussion. After the game coach Mark Richt indicated there was a chance Bellamy would be available next week against Alabama.

“He was moving in a good direction in a hurry,” Richt said.

Bellamy started at Vanderbilt, and this season has six tackles and two quarterback pressures. He moved ahead of fellow sophomore Lorenzo Carter on the depth chart, at least on first and second downs, because the coaches preferred to use Carter as a pass-rushing specialist.

Three other players were previously reported by Mark Richt to be out for the game: Junior inside linebacker Reggie Carter (shoulder), sophomore fullback Christian Payne (fibula) and freshman cornerback Rico McGraw (knee).

But Carter was actually in uniform Saturday, but did not play.
