Jordan Burch sent out a message on social media over the weekend to preview it. Then he confirmed it with a tweet on Monday.
The nation’s No. 1 strong-side DE prospect and No. 2 overall prospect (per the 247Sports Composite) now has a commitment date in mind.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder from The Hammond School (Columbia, SC) shared through his Twitter account that he will commit on Dec. 19. That’s not the first, but the second day of the early signing period for 2020 prospects.
Burch has been to visit Georgia multiple times over the last calendar year. For those that apply the “follow the visits” logic to the moves an elite prospect will make, the Bulldogs are definitely in that race. Why?
Check out his visit pattern of confirmed visits over the 2019 calendar year:
- Junior Day earlier this year
- G-Day
- The annual UGA scavenger hunt event
- The end-of-summer slip-n-slide “Cookout” event at UGA
- Burch also showed up at the South Carolina game on an unofficial visit
In comparison, it is believed that he has only taken one visit to check out Clemson this year.
This information, which is normal routine stuff for an elite recruit, takes on even greater importance because Burch does not do any media in regard to his college decision.
Georgia was also a part of his top 5 schools release earlier this year.
That included Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina. Burch has already taken officials to both Alabama and LSU this fall.
