ATHENS — Georgia has added Gardner-Webb to a 2016-17 basketball schedule that is coming together quickly.

According to a contract signed by Athletic Director Greg McGarity this past Friday, the Bulldogs will play host to Gardner-Webb on Nov. 25 this fall. UGA will pay Gardner-Webb $90,000 for the visit to Stegeman Coliseum.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs were 17-16 last season and went 10-8 in the Big South Conference. They will join a non-conference schedule for Georgia that already includes games against Marquette (Dec. 4) and Texas (Jan. 28, 2017) in Athens, Georgia Tech in Atlanta (Dec. 20), Oakland University in Michigan (Dec. 23) and George Washington and UAB or Kansas in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic tournament in Kansas City (Nov. 21-22).

The Bulldogs return All-SEC candidates J..J. Frazier and Yante Maten from last year’s 2014 team.
