ATHENS — T-minus 26 and counting.

That’s how many days until Georgia gets the Kirby Smart era underway with spring football practice. The Bulldogs on Thursday finally released their spring practice dates, with the usual qualifiers of “tentative” and “subject to change.”

The 15-practice session is scheduled to begin on March 15th, a Tuesday, or four days after UGA returns from spring break. As had been announced well ahead of time, the G-Day spring intrasquad scrimmage at Sanford Stadium is set for April 16. You may have heard Smart is calling for sellout that day. That will require 92,746 people showing up. Admission is free.

Unlike the past couple of years under former coach Mark Richt, there will be no practices after the spring game.
