After what actually qualified as its biggest win of the season, Georgia reaches the mid-point of the regular season. Here’s where the Bulldogs stand, individually and team-wise, along with noteworthy numbers from the South Carolina game.
Georgia’s point differential this season. The 14-point win over South Carolina was Georgia’s largest margin of victory this season and the only one so far in double digits.
Georgia rushing yards on Sunday, the most by the Bulldogs in one game since a 2014 win over Troy, when it was 367.
South Carolina rushing yards, a season-low. Take out sack yardage and it’s still only 73 rushing yards. The Gamecocks now rank dead last in the SEC in rushing yardage, averaging 92.33 yards per game. Next-worst is 146.7 yards per game.
Seasons it had been since two Georgia players rushed for 100 yards in the same game. The last time was the 2014 win over Auburn when Nick Chubb (144) and Todd Gurley (138) each did. (As of press time, UGA sports information wasn’t sure the last time, or even if, three players rushed for at least 100 yards in the same game. Brian Herrien finished with 82.)
Georgia running backs among the SEC’s top 15 rushers: Chubb is fifth (546 yards), Herrien is 13th (340 yards) and Michel is 14th (330 yards).
