Dan Orlovsky, a longtime NFL journeyman as a backup quarterback, is a promising talent as a college football analyst for ESPN.

One of the quickest ways to “make it” in the broadcasting business is to be opinionated, original and humorous.

Orlovsky said some words UGA fans will never forget after being part of the ESPN broadcast crew for South Carolina’s epic upset of then-No. 3-ranked UGA earlier this season.

Appearing a couple of days later on another ESPN show, Orlovksy was asked about the Bulldogs. His declaration:

“I think Georgia is done …”

Fortunately, the Bulldogs has proved Orlovsky wrong so far, rallying to win the SEC East. It hasn’t been easy or smooth for UGA, as it had to sweat things out until the final possession to beat Florida, Auburn and Texas A&M. But they did win.

Hopefully, the No. 4 Bulldogs can leave a better impression on Orlovsky and the rest of the ABC-TV crew when they play Georgia Tech at noon on Saturday.
