Former Georgia offensive lineman Fernando Velasco, who had a long career in the NFL, is coming back to the program.
Velasco has been hired by Kirby Smart for an off-field role, Velasco tweeted on Friday. It will be a life skills position.
Velasco, who played at Georgia from 2003-06, was second-team All-SEC in 2007, when he was Matt Stafford’s center.
He signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent, and spent five seasons with the Titans. He later spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills and again with the Titans.
