Four Georgia players make preseason All-SEC first team
SEC media members expect Georgia to win its division, and they also think the Bulldogs have some of the most talented players in the conference.
Georgia placed eight players on the media’s preseason All-SEC teams, including four on the first team: tailback Nick Chubb, tight end Isaac Nauta, defensive lineman Trent Thompson and inside linebacker Roquan Smith.
Offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and safety Dominick Sanders were named to the second team.
Tailback Sony Michel and outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter made the third team.
Alabama is the only other SEC team with more players on the first team, and the Crimson Tide have the most players on the All-SEC teams with 15. Eight Alabama players appear on the first team.
Florida had 10 players selected to the teams, while Auburn had nine and LSU had eight.
The full teams can be seen here on the SEC’s website. Media members voted on their selections at the recently concluded SEC Media Days.
Last year, Georgia had two players named to the preseason All-SEC first team: Chubb and offensive lineman Greg Pyke. Overall, seven preseason All-SEC spots went to Bulldogs.
When the season ended, no Bulldogs made the AP’s All-SEC first team, and only Isaiah McKenzie made the second team.
