Georgia football fans are reacting to the start of the early signing period on Dec. 18, and DawgNation is chronicling all the latest news with the Signing Day Spotlight — presented by Kroger. Each day, host Brandon Adams will recap the big news for UGA fans from around the recruiting trail as the Bulldogs attempt to once again assemble one of the country’s top classes. On this edition of the Signing Day Spotlight, BA examines the latest information regarding five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo and five-star tight end Darnell Washington.

UGA still hoping to land multiple five-star prospects for 2020 class

Georgia collected an impressive haul on the first day of the early signing period — good enough to earn the No. 4 ranking according to the 247Sports composite team rankings. However, there could potentially be a few more major additions on the way for the Bulldogs.

That’s the subject of this edition of Signing Day Spotlight (video linked below).

One of those possible recruits, five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo, tweeted this week a message that will likely be assumed by many to mean he’s signed his national letter of intent — although Ringo’s announcement isn’t expected to come until the All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 in San Antonio, Tex.

Five-star tight end Darnell Washington tweeted a similar message, seemingly contradicting his stated intent from the day before.

Washington has previously said he’d announce his college choice at the Under Armour All-Star Game in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 2.

Ringo, Washington, as well as offensive line commits Broderick Jones and Sedrick Van Pran are all significant names to know as coach Kirby Smart looks to finish the 2020 class on a strong note. Smart briefly referenced some of that unfinished business when he spoke to reporters Wednesday. Those comments can be found in the video below.

Signing Day Spotlight: UGA still waiting to here on status of 5-star targets

Kelee Ringo and Darnell Washington are two of Georgia's top targets. And when they announce in January, it could propel the Bulldogs to the top of the recruiting rankings.
