DawgNation’s Brandon Adams and former UGA All-American Jon Stinchcomb break down the opponent and discuss how Kirby Smart, Jake Fromm and the Bulldogs might go all the way to a national championship this season. On this edition of the Marlow’s Matchup, the guys discuss what to expect when UGA takes on Texas A&M.

Texas A&M fans gather for late-night pep rally ahead of UGA showdown

Georgia coach Kirby Smart predicted this week that Texas A&M fans would possibly show up for Saturday’s game for UGA in big numbers, fired up for their first trip to Athens as members of the SEC.

“I know their fan base is passionate,” Smart said Monday. “You will see their fan base in Athens because they all want to make this trip, just like it’ll be recipricated when we go there — whenever that is.

Some of that passion from Aggies fans was put on display Friday night at a traditional pep rally known as “Yell Practice,” which took place at the Mall of Georgia.

It’s difficult to tell from the video (which, to be frank, is quite strange, and seemingly features more calisthenics than yelling) how many Aggies have made the trip for Saturday’s game, but the ones who are here appear to be enjoying themselves and characteristically enthusiastic about their team’s first showdown with the Bulldogs.

In fact, according to Smart, Texas A&M — and its fans who’ve traveled to Georgia — won’t be overwhelmed by the moment inside a, likely rain-soaked, Sanford Stadium Saturday.

“Their team is not intimidated by any environment,” Smart said. “They go to Clemson and play. They go to Tuscaloosa and play every [other] year. They get to play at Auburn every [other] year. They play at LSU every other year. That’s not going to be what this game is about.”
