ATHENS ― Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said he does not have any word on the status of freshman defensive back Latavious Brini, arrested last week on a felony charge of forgery.
Smart said Brini’s case was still in the court process. He was arrested Dec. 12.
“As we get more information we’ll let you guys know,” Smart said Monday morning. “We just don’t know a lot.”
The felony forgery charged stemmed from an alleged incident in July. According to the police report, Brini is alleged to have passed a counterfeit $100 bill at a local Pet Supplies Plus.
A native of South Florida, Brini was redshirting this season after signing with Georgia in February. He was a 3-star prospect from Mater Charter Academy in Hialeah Gardens, Fla.
