ATHENS — There is more coaching news at Georgia, this one adding to the sub-plots when Mississippi State visits this September.

D.J. Looney, who spent 2016 as a graduate assistant at Georgia, is returning to Mississippi State, his alma mater, reports Bruce Feldman of Foxsports.com.

Looney, who was an offensive lineman at Mississippi State, helped Georgia’s offensive line this year. He will be working with MSU’s tight ends and offensive linemen, Feldman reports.

Looney will thus take his knowledge and insight of Georgia to its first SEC opponent this season: Mississippi State visits Sanford Stadium on Sept. 23.

Its yet another Georgia connection who will be on Mississippi State’s sideline. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, safety Jonathan Abram and defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers all joined Mississippi State this offseason.
