Georgia Tech rips up famous hedges after win
Georgia Tech victories in Athens have become uncomfortably routine in recent years.
So has the practice of victorious Georgia Tech players taking home some horticultural souvenirs in triumph.
The Yellow Jackets clipped Georgia 28-27 with a last-minute touchdown Saturday. And after the game, several Tech players clipped pieces of the famed hedges that surround the field at Sanford Stadium to take back to Atlanta.
It’s a ritual Tech has enjoyed in Athens following wins in 2014, 2008, 2000, 1998, 1990, 1985…

Well, you get the picture.
This time, Tech began the post-game taunts by stomping on the “G” in Georgia’s end zone.

Georgia Tech linebacker Bryant Mitchell had himself a little post-game snack.

This piece was barely worth the effort.

However, Georgia Tech defensive end Anree Saint-Amour must be working on a Christmas wreath.

Some Bulldogs fans were upset.
It's just really bothers me that they tore up our hedges again. They do know we will retaliate next year right??? #UGAvsGT

But it’s hard to argue with this logic.
To all the UGA fans mad that GT players tore out pieces of "The Hedges," here's a thought…don't lose to GT. #UGAvsGT
