Georgia’s second SEC game of the season, at Ole Miss on Sept. 24, will begin at noon and air on ESPN, the SEC announced Monday.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 16 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll, will catch the Rebels a week after their home showdown against top-ranked Alabama. Ole Miss is ranked No. 19 by AP this week.

Georgia and Ole Miss will have played one SEC game each when they meet. The Bulldogs travel to Missouri for a Saturday night game this weekend, hoping for a stronger showing than they gave in Saturday’s close-call victory against FCS-school Nicholls State.

Georgia’s lethargic, turnover-riddled performance in a 26-24 victory Saturday cost the Bulldogs in the polls and almost led to the biggest upset loss in school history. The AP voters dropped the Bulldogs seven spots.

The Bulldogs and Rebels last met Nov. 3, 2012, when 8-1 Georgia defeated 2-7 Ole Miss 37-10 in Athens on the way to winning the SEC East title. Entering this season, each school ranked among the teams widely given a chance to win their division. That status may be on the line when the teams meet this month in Oxford, Miss.
