Perhaps the Georgia player best equipped the chaos of the past month is Greyson Lambert, who himself transferred into Georgia less than two months before this season.

“We’re all big boys. We understand it’s football. It’s the nature of the beast,” he said.

And, somewhat ironically, one of the few major things unchanged with the Bulldogs is Lambert, who will start on Saturday, just as he did for all but one game this season.

Elsewhere so much is different from the last time the Bulldogs took the field, Nov. 29 at Georgia Tech. It’s understandable if you’ve had a hard time keeping track, so here’s who is out and who is in:

HEAD COACH

OUT: Mark Richt

IN: Bryan McClendon (for this game)

Reaction: McClendon said he’s dealing with “a few” South Carolina-related responsibilities this week. But otherwise his focus is on Georgia this week. “After that I’ll be able to answer all those questions so you’ll be able to follow me up there,” McClendon said, elbowing a reporter playfully.

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

OUT: Brian Schottenheimer

IN: John Lilly (for this game)

QUARTERBACKS COACH

OUT: Schotttenheimer

IN: Steve Shimko (graduate assistant)

Reaction: “He just said it was the best decision for him. We respect that, totally, and just like every other coach moving on to the next step in their life, it’s a business. A lot of us would probably do the same thing. It’s a business.” – Lambert on what Schottenheimer about not coaching in the bowl:

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR

OUT: Jeremy Pruitt

IN: Kevin Sherrer (for this game)

Reaction: “He may have the title of defensive coordinator but he still coaches us up every now and then. He pretty much just coaches everybody, and that just goes to show his knowledge of the defense. He pretty much coaches everybody but the D-line because coach (Tracy) Rocker has that locked up. I really just see him getting on to us even more now that he’s at the D-coordinator spot.” – Senior OLB Jordan Jenkins

INSIDE LINEBACKERS COACH

OUT: Mike Ekeler

IN: Sherrer (who had been coaching OLBs)

Reaction: “We do most of the same individual stuff. His coaching philosophy is probably a little different, the way he coaches and stuff like that is a little different. But overall it’s pretty similar.” – Senior ILB Jake Ganus

OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS COACH

OUT: Sherrer

IN: Courtney Coard (graduate assistant)

SECONDARY COACH

OUT: Pruitt

IN: Sam Petitto (for this game)
