It was a game between both the hedges and the trenches.

Georgia fans were quite content with the Bulldogs’ 13-7 upset win over No. 8 Auburn in Athens. We asked them for their reaction our DawgNation Facebook page and got loads of responses.

As you may have guessed, many fans were pleased with Georgia’s defense and kicker Rodrigo Blankenship. Even coach Kirby Smart was lauded by the Bulldog Faithful.

Here are some of fan comments, edited for space, clarity and content.

Allan Vrboncic: “Kirby Smart did something (former coach Mark) Richt could not do. Beat a Top 10 team. And that is huge because there were quite a few big time recruits at the game.”

Keith Cooper: “Great job, no drops, defense played sound, running game looked good against a real defense. Maybe I was wrong about Smart.”

Jared Crews: “Kirby Smart finally showed us something today. We’ve been watiing all season for a big win. Maybe this is the win that helps us win out against ULL and GT and turn the corner heading into next season.”

Keith C. Finnie: “How about that defense? Not one first down in the second half for AU.  #HowAboutThemDaws!”

Ryan Adams: “Now everybody is back on the bandwagon! Great win Dawgs! Kirby is the man!”

Scott Willis: “Don’t see any comments from the Kirby bashers tonight. Thats a shame. You can still appreciate the win.”

Chuck Rawlinson: “To all the negative so-called “Dawg Fans” this year, have a good evening. GO DAWGS!”

Christy Sexton: “Great coaching makes a great team!”

Jeff Allgood: Dogs dominate the line of scrimmage today on both sides of the ball. Best game yet.

Leiv Munlaug Takle: Kirby is turning this team around. Auburn did not get a first down in the second half!
