ATHENS — The media and the coaches are in agreement: Georgia has the 15th-best football team in the country.

Or at least that’s the preseason consensus. The Associated Press poll was released on Monday, and it had Georgia in the same spot as the Amway Coaches Poll that was released earlier this month.

The No. 15 ranking is pretty similar to last year, when the Bulldogs were No. 18 in the preseason AP poll, and No. 16 in the coaches poll. But for the second straight year, the Bulldogs finished the season unranked in the AP poll after being ranked. (Two years ago, Georgia began No. 9 in both the AP and coaches polls.)

Since 2008, the year Georgia was the consensus preseason No. 1 team, the Bulldogs have finished lower than their preseason rank six out of nine years. The exceptions were 2011, 2012 and 2014.

Georgia is the highest-ranked SEC East team in the AP poll, albeit barely: Florida is No. 17 and Tennessee is No. 25.
