ATHENS — Jordan Jenkins has played in every Georgia game since he’s been on the football team. His 46-game streak is on the verge of ending.

Jenkins is expected to miss Saturday’s game against Missouri, according to a report by Dawgs247.com. The senior outside linebacker has been dealing for a couple weeks with what coaches described as a muscle strain in the hip and groin area. Jenkins was unable to finish Saturday’s game against Tennessee.

Georgia has a bye the following week, so the hope is Jenkins will be able to return for the Oct. 31 game with arch-rival Florida.

Still, the absence of Jenkins would be less than ideal against Missouri. He leads the team with three sacks and 7.5 tackles-for-loss, and his inability to play at full strength – he eventually was pulled in the second half – didn’t help a defense that gave up more than 500 yards.
