It’s championship week across the nation in college football. But most importantly for Georgia fans, it’s SEC championship week, and the Bulldogs are back in the big game this year.

The game Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the conference title marks the first time since 2012 that Georgia has played in the SEC Championship Game — it lost in 2011 and 2012. The Bulldogs will be looking for their first SEC title since 2005 when they beat LSU.

Georgia faces a very familiar foe with kickoff set for 4 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn easily defeated Georgia 40-17 on Nov. 11 in Auburn, and the Tigers also knocked off Alabama last week in the Iron Bowl to earn its spot in Saturday’s game.

But that loss to Auburn was Georgia’s only setback of the season in 12 games, while Auburn enters the game with a 10-2 record. And the winner of the game Saturday most likely will earn a spot in the College Football Playoff, with that four-team field being announced Sunday.

Chip Towers and Seth Emerson broke down Saturday’s game on this week’s Sound Off as Bulldogs fans get ready for the biggest game the program has played in years.

What’s the key for the Bulldogs and Tigers to win the conference championship and earn the right to move into the playoff? Who are the players to watch? Can the Bulldogs rebound from their earlier loss to the Tigers and gain some revenge?
