ATHENS — Thanks for tuning in to the Zaxby’s Sound Off, where beat writers Seth Emerson and Chip Towers offer their thoughts on the Georgia football team.

Chip and Seth deal with a number of topics this week, including the hype surrounding the 7-0 Bulldogs in the national rankings and what the team is doing this week even though there is no game on Saturday. The Georgia Bulldogs play their longtime rivals, Florida, next weekend in Jacksonville, Fla.

Even more exciting than all that? Seth has his own microphone this week.

Here are some of the highlights.

On the off week: Both Chip and Seth were at practice Tuesday, which was the lone media availability this week. “This is a work week,” Chip says, according to Kirby Smart. Seth offered this brief rundown of the practice availability. “Still energetic. They did this one-on-one drill. They gather the whole team around. Kirby has all the names written on a sheet. Then he calls out the name of one offensive player and one defensive player, and they match up. Receivers going up against quarterbacks. And [Jake] Fromm or [Jacob] Eason would throw a ball, and they would [go up against each other] one on one. Sometimes it was an O-lineman against a defender. Something to try and build up energy at the start of practice. But also to prepare guys for pressure because the whole team is watching.

On rest: Seth relays a story that he was told by Davin Bellamy about what Kirby Smart told them. “Other teams are using their bye week to rest their players, get their energy back, but we’re going to keep playing. … It is kind of indicative of what Kirby and the coaching staff are doing this year. Push. Push. Push.”

On UGA’s 7-0 start: Chip offers his thoughts on where the Bulldogs stand nationally. “They are the consensus No. 3 team in the country, which obviously puts you in the [playoff picture] … The water is deep. It is very high. Last week I looked at the unbeatens, five of them fell last weekend. Not to sound too much like Kirby in this regard, but you always have to be on your guard. Everyone is coming after you … They’ve got everything to play for.”

There is plenty more, but you’ll have to watch to find out.

Thanks for watching, and we hope you will continue to tune in.
