ATHENS — Despite rumors that ran rampant across the Internet on Thursday morning, Jeremy Pruitt remains Georgia’s defensive coordinator and will be for the foreseeable future, DawgNation.com has confirmed

Pruitt and head coach Mark Richt were attending staff meetings together late Thursday morning, according to multiple persons familiar the situation.

“I’ve not heard anything over here about any breaking news, announcements, etc.,” said UGA’s sports communications director Claude Felton

Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity declined comment other than to say “we’re getting ready for Kentucky.”

The rumors built to the point that at lunchtime Thursday, Richt himself felt compelled to respond to it.
