UGA climbs in the latest SEC Country Power Rankings
Each week a panel of beat writers who cover all 14 SEC teams (Chip Towers of the AJC and DawgNation is one) and three national writers cast a ballot for The Official SEC Country Power Poll.
After a 27-3 victory over Kentucky, UGA (6-3, 4-3 SEC) rose two spots in the latest Power Poll. The Bulldogs climbed from No. 9 to No. 7, and are the second-highest SEC East team this week.
UGA received 112 total points from the voters, 15 more than it earned in last week’s poll. A vote was given for the Bulldogs to occupy the No. 5 spot in the poll, and at least one voter had them as low as No. 11.
UGA will face Auburn (5-4, 2-4), the No. 9 team in the Power Poll, at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday. The last time these two teams squared off in Auburn, the Bulldogs lost 43-38 after giving up a late touchdown that has become known as “The Prayer at Jordan-Hare.”
