Following Georgia’s 31-14 victory over the Commodores, here’s what the Bulldogs (and Vanderbilt coach) had to say:

“We just didn’t throw and catch well at all in the first half. A little bit of decision making but mostly just not throwing on target.”

-Coach Mark Richt on quarterback performance

“We tried to get big and then they got big and they put everybody in every gap.. and then some. You’re just so tempted to pick it up and launch one because it’s just single coverage, nobody deep…A lot of it’s just riding for the 1, 2, 3-yard gain and that’s just kind of how it goes sometimes.”

-Richt on Vanderbilt’s run game defense

“This is my last time coming to this place, but every time I come here there’s always stuff that goes wrong. Whether it’s certain calls or what, there’s bad things that always happen and stuff doesn’t always go our way.”

-Senior linebacker Jordan Jenkins on playing in Nashville, Tennessee

“I guess, personally, it was a tale of two halves. Just kind of had to settle in there. I feel like our offense left a lot out on the field.”

-Quarterback Greyson Lambert on his performance and the Bulldogs’ offense

“I feel like we were focused all week. We took this game very serious. But football is one of those things, you just never know what’s going to happen.”

-Senior wideout Malcolm Mitchell on shaky play against Vanderbilt

“Whoever tipped that really made the play. I was just there to snag it. I just had my guy in coverage and they threw it over my head to someone else’s guy. He made a great play and tipped it up and I was able to retreat and grab it and keep my foot inbounds. I was able to make up for the drop I had earlier.”

-Linebacker Jake Ganus on fourth quarter interception “He did a lot today. It’s hard to bring him down with just one guy… Any time you’re trying to tackle a running back of his caliber with one person, it’s tough.”

-Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason
