It’s only halftime, but Todd Gurley is having himself a day.
The former Georgia star had a massive 30 minutes for the Los Angeles Rams, catching 6 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had 33 rushing yards on 10 carries.
Gurley’s half was punctuated by this 80-yard touchdown catch on a perfectly executed screen pass:
Some fantasy football players might be especially happy for Gurley. He’s setting records today with 34.6 points (PPR scoring) in the first half:
Entering the day, Gurley had 1,817 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns through 14 games. It’s a breakout season for the third-year pro who averaged just 3.2 yards per carry last season.
Gurley’s big day could have implications on the NFL most-valuable player race. He entered the weekend with the second-best odds to win the award at most books, coming in at +500. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the current favorite at -500.
